What size pacifier should my baby use?

Generally if your baby is home from the hospital, he or she is ready for the New Bigger Newborn orange, purple or blue GumDrop. You also can ask your nurses at the hospital which is the right size.



What is the biggest size?

The biggest size is the New Bigger Newborn, Mango Orange, blue or purple color.



What safety requirements does the GumDrop pacifier meet?

Pacifiers are regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, an agency of the U.S. government. GumDrop passes the required safety tests (Consumer Product Safety Commission Part 1511).



Can GumDrop be used by breastfeeding babies?

GumDrop has a natural nipple shape that helps avoid nipple confusion. The American Academy of Pediatrics published guidelines in November 2005 recommending pacifier use for all babies over 3 months of age to help reduce the incidence of SIDS.



How many GumDrops do I need?

Babies become accustomed to a pacifier so you may want to keep a few on hand in case some get lost.



When should I give my baby a new GumDrop?

You should check all pacifiers frequently and if there is any sign of wear, especially in the nipple area, discard and replace. If your baby is teething or gumming the pacifier you may see bite marks or holes in the nipple area. If so, discard immediately. You can choose to stop using pacifiers, or replace with a new GumDrop and continue to examine frequently.



Why does my baby put her upper lip over the top? Does it mean it's too small?

This does not mean the pacifier is too small. It is very common with GumDrops because of the low profile. The babies do this for comfort.



When should my baby stop using GumDrop?

If your baby becomes big enough to fit the GumDrop all the way into the mouth, we recommend you stop using it.



What is the best way to clean GumDrop pacifiers?

There are a few ways to clean the pacifiers. Some parents put them in the dishwasher, some use a sterilizer, and some just use soap and water. All these methods are safe. Use whichever method you feel comfortable with.

When will my order be processed and shipped?

Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) web orders placed by 11 a.m. are normally processed and shipped on the same business day following receipt of your order. For orders received after 11 a.m., and for orders received on holidays and weekends, we process and ship orders on the next business day.



When I place an order with The Soother Store what are my shipping choices?

We ship via Canada Post or UPS



When will I receive my order?

You should receive your order within 2-6 days in Canada, 5-10 days in the U.S.A.- depending on U.S. Customs.



What is your return policy?

Unopened products can be returned. Please make sure that you include your original invoice number and that you ship your pacifiers back to us using a method that can be tracked, as we cannot be responsible for returns that are not sent to us via a confirmed delivery method. Shipping and handling charges will not be refunded unless there was a mistake made on your order, in which case the entire cost of your order including shipping and handling will be refunded to you.
